it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful

Saturday, May 3 is the last day to get the beautiful downloadable prints if you purchase or order a copy of my new book The Nesting Place (ebooks count too!) from any store. As I’m typing this Amazon is selling the book for $11.99 and Barnes & Noble.com has it for $12.10!! Those are the lowest prices I’ve seen anywhere!

To get the links to the print simply order your copy or purchase it at your local bookstore then email us at :

Paired with the book, it’s the perfect Mother’s Day gift.

There are five different colors and you can print off as many as you like.

  1. So enjoying the book. And, congratulations to the winner. The quote she chose is one I gave to my mother years ago when she was going through a rough time. She looks to it every day still.

I read a blurb about your book and your blog in today’s Denver Post. After reading some of your blog posts and excerpts of your book on amazon, just had to order your book. I can’t wait until Monday for it to arrive!

I knew I would love your book and couldn’t wait to start reading. But, wow I had no idea you would be telling my story in Chapter 2. In 38 years of marriage we’ve moved 15 times. I have always felt embarrassed, bitter and unsettled when I thought about that – some were absolute dumps and I couldn’t stand the thought of my young boys going to sleep in them. Some were in very unsafe neighborhoods, but it was all we could afford. After reading about your 13 houses, I have rearranged my thinking that it was a good thing – stepping stones to today. Having moved so many times has made me appreciate the home we’ve been in for the past 13 years. It’s just the right size and location for two empty nesters. I only wish I’d read a book like this years ago, I wouldn’t have wasted so many years of bitterness and worry. Thank you so much for writing this book!

To be honest. I have never entered an online competiton type thing. The only reason I entered this one was because I thought
“hey, why not? Worse thing that happens is that I don’t win and someone sees my quote and gets something from it”
Never ever in a million years did I think that the AUTHOR OF THE WEBSITE would read it and get something from it.

I had to read and re read the post to make sure it was mine.
I’m still feeling like I’m hallucinating. Thank you . A thousand times over, thank you.
