 Meet Allison

The-Paint-Bar-19-e1430333260790

Howdy! My name is Allison and I started Refunk My Junk in February 2010 as an extension of my furniture painting hobby. At the time I was a new Mom with a 5-month old son and a Vice President at a Corporate Bank who desperately needed a creative outlet to keep my sanity!  Soon, my hobby had spun so far out of control I decided to trade in my fancy high heels and suits for owning my own business and blogging full-time.

I am just a regular person, not an interior decorator, with no special skills or degree in design.  If a banker of 15-years can turn a $20.00 dresser into a gorgeous, expensive, custom piece of furniture, then so can you!  I hope Refunk My Junk provides you inspiration and encouragement to tackle your own projects at home or take your furniture painting skills to the next level!

I am proud to be a brand spokesperson for Heirloom Traditions Paints and a National Trainer for Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paints.  In additional to blogging I also run my studio, The Paint Bar, where I teach my classes, help clients with their projects, and host a monthly warehouse sale called Lost & Foundry.  –find Allison at her blog: ReFunk My Junk
