Today I thought I’d share a few images of our summer home. Oh no, I don’t have a separate home at the beach just for summering.

It’s just our regular house all cool, calm and collected for summer. You can have a summer home too.

This house loves getting dressed in green and blue, and it looks especially fitting in the summer months.

I make sure the blue denim chair gets lots of attention in the summer by pulling it to a more visible corner.

We have four apple tress on the property, the squirrels always get them before they ripen up, so this year, I beat them to it and picked some tiny green apples–not for eating, but for piling in a bowl in lieu of greenery.

I love making a few tiny changes in the hutch every season. For summer, I pulled all the white and bright dishes, vases and pottery forward for a cozy, interesting and quiet vignette.

I changed out the bar cart area and I love the drama that this second hand table adds to the space. I especially like the mix of the feminine table style with the more modern light fixture. I admit, the black paint and drippy black candles feel more like fall in this photo, but in real life, you see the trees and pool right behind it so it feels really summery.

Queen Anne’s Lace is growing like crazy here so I cut some extra long and piled it in a vase for the coffee table.

Even the porch is looking extra welcoming with a new lighting update.

My office is feeling especially light and airy and watery and 1980’s since I added a pair of second hand chairs in sea foam green.

I think the Golden Girls would be proud.

Although summer is my favorite season, fall is my favorite season to decorate for and I can’t wait to autumn-ize my office this year with a few fall touches.

I love making tiny adjustments to my home over time as a way to seasonalize our home.

It doesn’t require redecorating your home from top to bottom, changing out all the artwork or unpacking bins full of seasonal decor to have a beautiful, perennial home that feels like it honors each season as it comes.

If you love the idea of creating a simple, seasonal home you’re gonna love my new book, Welcome Home that releases in September.

I spent the last week of June recording a brand new online course that I think you’re gonna love.

It’s called Welcome Home Prep School and it’s a lovely new offering full of gorgeous, sparkly, fun videos you can go through in less than an hour and immediately apply to your home.

I can’t wait to share the syllabus with you and get you enrolled in the new class.

The best part is, you can get it for free when you preorder Welcome Home.

More details soon, just know all you have to do to get the free course is preorder any version (ebook, audiobook, hardback) from any retailer (like AmazonBarnes & NobleTarget and more ) anytime before release date (that means even if you already preordered back in January all the way until it comes out September 15).
