Annual Tour of Homes :: #idhtbptbbchristmas

Welcome to the TENTH ANNUAL Christmas Tour of Homes!

This Christmas tour was started in 2006 by one of my favorite bloggers on the planet, Sophie from BooMama (please tell me you’ve read her books?!), back when photos were smaller online and old linkys are no non-existent. I’m so grateful that Sophie passed this tour on to me to host and it’s always something I look forward too–thank you for welcoming us into your real, live home during the holidays!

Only imperfect homes are welcome to join this tour. Lucky for us, that includes everyone.

There are two ways to join in the tour, one, is via instagram–where I’ll be sharing the rest of my tour over the next few days…

Follow me here on instagram and tag your photos #idhtbptbbchristmas (it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful Christmas) yep, it’s a mouthful, and ridiculous which is part of the charm, luckily, we don’t have to say it, just type it in once and then it will be one of your hashtags you can choose from!

ps if you are looking for sources from my own home, you can find most things here. Most of my art/prints/canvases are from Lindsay Letters, Aliza Latta, Naptime Diaries,  Gracelaced and Vol25.

  1. Thanks for doing this!!! I used to have a blog back from 2008-2010 and I’d link up with you regularly for stuff like this… then things got hectic and crazy (well, I’d guess you’d call it LIFE) so I stopped blogging. Well I’m back to it, and now with a more focused purpose so this is my first time linking up with you again and well, its exciting. :) You inspire me!

  2. Merry Christmas, Nester! This is my 4th Christmas party with you! And no one throws a better gathering …

Last week’s post inviting us to join the celebration brought me out of a bit of a funk and got me grabbing my phone and clicking away. The whole afternoon’s work filled me with gratitude and a deeper appreciation for this year’s simplest of Christmas celebrations.

And for that gift, I thank you.

Hugs. And heaps of blessings, friend …

  3. Your home is beautiful, as always, especially in it’s simplicity! So fun to join in again this year! Merry Christmas! xo Ashley

  4. Thanks so much for hosting the tour once again! You really help to take the pressure off by reminding us that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Merry Christmas!

  5. Oh, Myquillyn, I remember when you inherited this tour from Sophie. I think maybe I’ve linked up with you every year. Honestly, I think my home gets less and less perfect as time goes by! One thing I’ve learned is to embrace my traditional Christmas decor. For awhile I thought I needed to try to make my decor fashionable, as if our Christmasy home would be acceptable only if it reflected the latest trends in home decor. Yikes. This year I left a lot of decor in the bins, and used things I love to create the traditional look I love. And I took such deep pleasure in creating a Hogarth curve for my dining table. I used to make traditional Williamsburg decorations every year, but I hadn’t done that in at least 15 years, and making one this year was a time of precious memories for me. :)

Love you, friend. Thank you for hosting this annual gala.

    • A Hogarth Curve! I’ve never even heard of that and I just looked at yours and it’s lovely! I love that you are embracing traditional decor! YES. And your gold ribbon and balls over the window might be my favorite! xoxo

  6. Thanks for the chance to link up my Christmas home tours. I shared my Farmhouse Family room and my “Chic” Living room decor. I use two totally different styles that I love and put them in different rooms in my house and somehow, it works! I think it’s because #idhtbptbb :) I’m links 53 and 54 if you’d like to check out my crazy mixture. Merry Christmas! xoxo

  7. Your home is beautiful. Can;t wait to follow you on Instagram. Thanks. Merry Christmas.
    Mary Ann

  8. First time finding out about you and your site!!!! Definitely will enjoy and savor everything! Thank you for hosting!

  9. To me your home has always been perfect though! It’s beautiful in the most stunning casual way. It always looks so effortless but still intentional. I can’t even put it into words. Happy Holidays.

  10. It’s the most magical time of the year! I began linking up with this tour back when Myquillyn was incognito as the Nester. I’ve got my cozy pj’s on and can’t wait to see all the goodness. Thank you so much for hosting.

  11. I look forward to this tour every year … thank you for hosting! I already see so many beautiful homes that I can’t wait to tour! Happy Holidays!

  12. Okay. Taking a risk here. I was told that there is no such thing as a dumb question. So. I’m confused about the tour on Instagram. Are we supposed to be able to see the tour here on your blog? I’ve heard of instagram, but know nothing about it.

  13. So this is the 7th year in a row that I have joined your party! Gotta love a good house tour!
Thanks so much for being such a warm and imperfect hostess! :)

  14. Looove your home and your ideas about home so much! So glad I could join up this year. Have a Merry Christmas!

  15. Thanks so much for hosting Nester, I look forward to this every year

  16. Your home look awesome ;) Thank you for great ideas how making Christmas better. Neaster, Merry Christmas :D

  17. But all blogs have a very important factor in accordance, regardless if you
are blogging for riches as well as to get attention. Use articles
    – The best way you can find your business to rate at the top of a search engine is
always to concentrate on the best keywords that
individuals are using to find a law firm. No matter how big or small the organization is, it is the most productive tool for them.
