Inspiring Christmas Details

That lighted book page garland! That Green sofa! That paintbrush on the wall! // Shades of Blue Interiors

Here’s how to make my book page garland from 3 years ago, it’s worth making–I still use it today in my office!

The Christmas Tour of Homes is still going (you can link up into next week) but I wanted to share some of my favorite little details. Not that I don’t love the big huge ideas, but I’m usually more inspired by the quick little touches that I can get up and incorporate into my home right away.

  2. I just love this! So many inspiring rooms and ideas! And I love it that there are so many (like the stacked wood slices) that could be SO easy to make. Thank you Nester!

  3. Oh, how I love Paige and Shannan’s décor! All of these simple touches are perfect! Thanks for highlighting these for us!

  4. Thank you so much, Nester! I wondered why my IG was going crazy this morning, what a nice surprise! That is so funny that my tiered fruit caught your eye… if I remember right, last year you used a stacked silver piece for fruit and greenery, and that inspired me to use my pewter tiered stand with fruit on it in the kitchen then. I love your approach of choosing one simple thing to focus on here. Merry Christmas!

  5. Wow, wow!! What an honor, truly! I remember first discovering your blog, and how meaningful it was to find someone so honest, so authentic about not trying to depict a perfect home and embracing the beauty in the everyday. I’m so passionate about helping others find beauty in the little things in their homes, and trying to counter the message of perfection. So grateful for your voice and your message. THANK YOU for the mention, and Merry Christmas!!

  6. What a lovely roundup! I am just over the moon to be included. Though I cannot take much credit considering you have been my main inspiration the past few years for how I decorate my tree…simple but pretty! Thanks for reminding us that the simplest of things are the loveliest! It seemed a common theme when I was browsing some of the homes yesterday. Such a beautiful little community you have gathered here for us all!
