What to do When You May or Not be a Control Freak

  1. Elizabeth says

I always enjoy your link roundups, but I wanted to drop a comment and say thank you especially for this post. Every single link seems to hit home. I’ve left them all open in my browser to reread again later, because I want to think about and meditate on several of them – especially Mark Buchanan on control at A Holy Experience, Nick Thacker on defining your passion at Jeff Goins, and the topic of imperfection at Becoming Minimalist. Sometimes several blog posts just come together and help define what’s going on in your life, you know? I think that just happened to me. Thank you. :)

    • YES! I can so relate, Elizabeth. You can usually tell what I’m dwelling on by what posts I include in the weekend links, and I so agree that most of these posts are really related to each other and more meaningful when read together, in light of each other!!! Kindred spirits unite!

      • PS, dear world, don’t assume the vacation one is about packing–it’s SO much deeper that that and so good (not just saying that b/c my sister wrote it!)

  2. Thanks so much for sharing my project – can’t wait to read through all of the other links you shared. Have a great weekend, Laura

  3. I really enjoyed the vacationing and control reads. Breath prayer. Love that!

  4. Those lockers are to die for, I have been lusting after some for months, but after my latest furniture haul consumed our garage, I am banned from any more items until we move into a larger home in march. It’s killing me lol. I keep trying to think of the accessory free month and know that I can do it!

  5. Your Saturday links are always these trails to the loveliest places, M.
Emily’s vacation packing pice? Just another example of familial brilliance — truth that translates to everything.

Thank you for what you do — it really makes a difference for us down in the trenches…
    Grace, friend.

Always a delight to read your weekend links, I always find a takeaway and several of these articles I found very inspiring, like you! Thanks so much for the shout out, and I thought of YOU when I was doing them, how much you love simple abstracts too !

  7. I love this weekly collection too. Always find something new and beautiful. Thank you!
This week, I am now signed up for the novel writing course through Jeff Goin’s guest blogger.
XOXO Have a great week! ~oklahoma

  8. What an inspiring collection of links. The Joy of Why Not resonated with me, I suffer from chronic Analysis Paralysis – a whole host of excuses (money, indecision, perfectionism) can stop me from doing things I want (or need) to do. ESPECIALLY around the home. A few months ago I decided to just dive in, and it was the best decision I ever made. Fortune favours the bold ;)

  9. I like this a lot. Thank you for sharing. I’m always looking for upcycles like this. In the end, you don’t know it was a shipping pallet to begin with!

  10. Thanks for the best blog.it was very useful for me. keep sharing such ideas in the future as well. this was actually what i was looking for,and i am glad to came here!

  11. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The woords in yur pokst seem to be running ooff the screen in Opera.

I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with browser
compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The design look great though!

Hope you get the issue resolved soon. Cheers
