  1. What a genius idea! I love to work with metals on a small scale and never thought of True Value as a resource! I’m adding a trip over to our local store to my calendar this week. Will go without the kids, so I have some peace to dream while I peruse! Thank you!!

Clever stuff. LOVE the copper u-shaped thingys. All things copper are on my radar.

  3. I have a bag of washers (at least I think that’s what they are) that I’m going to paint and make into necklaces.

  4. Very fun! I worked in a family-owned hardware store during my teen years and enjoy home-improvement store dates with my husband. I hadn’t thought of using the supplies for decorating. Thank you for the creativity and ideas!

  5. What a great idea! I would never think of going to the Hardware store. Can’t wait to go and see what I can create! Thanks!

all of it soo beautiful and different than typical; fall decor!

  7. I can’t believe I am only the 6th person making a comment – love your choice of pumpkins and squash colors – I relax when I look at your mantle. I really like that. I’ve always loved green pumpkins – probably because I grew up in a country with only green pumpkins so we always had a green jack-o-lantern on our front porch. Plus, taste wise, they are fabulous. You can even use green pumpkin flesh in place of apple for apple pie. (Also in The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder)
So Ms Nester, you created a beautiful mantle and hopefully, some tasty dishes as well.
