Ebooks

Lisa Leonard Designs

this is part two of yesterday’s post

You are an expert at something. You can teach us something. {You are thinking of that very thing now, aren’t you?} And for some of you, that something would partner well with an ebook. Have you considered writing an ebook? It’s predicted that this year there will be 8 million Kindle sales alone, not to mention all those other e-readers. All those people looking for something to download.

The only thing keeping you from writing that book is you.

Need to know how to get it done? Read the War of ArtDownload this free ebook ~fair warning there are some 4 letter words you can overlook {you can get a kindle app on your laptop for free} The time is now.  {or maybe later if you have tiny children}  Read what Rachel says about What Reaching a Goal Really Looks Like. While you are there, you should check out her ebook, Simple Blogging, Less Computer Time, Better Blogging.

My long time friend Heather just wrote an ebook called Seduced By Simplicity. Her family just moved back into a charming little cottage after living in an RV, by choice, for almost a year.  I have always learned from this friend, but I’ve implemented the wisdom of her new found perspective in this book immediately.  Go Heather!

Sarah Mae just published 31 Days to Clean~it’s on Amazon, people. You can be on Amazon too.

My friends Kristi and Mandie have also written ebooks sharing their hard earned knowledge A Lazy Girl’s Guide to Slipcovers and How to Paint Furniture.  Both women run businesses and their ebooks are part of their business.  I’m not sure if their ebooks are available for eReaders {e-readers?} yet but, you can read them on your computer.

Have you written and ebook?   Why not share it with us?  Link up to your ebook.  And then, go read what my Dad has to say about the future of ebooks.

Why my dad?    My dad, Gary started a blog long before I even knew what a blog was {6 years ago!}.  I’ve learned so much about blogging and leadership from him.  After reading his post at Stephanie’s blog, now I want to write ebooks again.  Warning, it will make you want to write an ebook.

  1. No ebooks from me. But I love this post. I always think “what would people want to learn from me??”. I need to rethink my attitude. I totally agree with you…everyone is an expert at something! :)

  2. Your dad rocks. So do you. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?

I bought your tutorial on making tassels not because I love tassels – I don’t, but because I want to do several e-books. :-) So I figured before I wrote one I oughta buy a few.

I love your blog – your honesty and your artsy-ness. I sent you a question way back in tassel-time about e-books and you sent me to Seth Godin. Thank you. :-)

  3. I’ve really been loving this series you were a part of. eBooks are great, but they’re certainly a different kind of beast!

  4. I have been reading your dad’s blog for a while now, he rocks!

  5. You are so inspiring! How many people did you just empower today? Can’t wait to find out…

  6. I was planning on an ebook but it turned into an ezine instead, which has been such fun for me! A Nester ezine I would love to see:)

  7. I have loved your site since the day I found it. Love coming to you for inspiration, and some days just to look at your pretty house because mine is a wreck that day. But now, NOW, I’m in love with your dad’s blog too! I’ve only been reading him for 5 minutes and I’m just blown away. Thanks!!!!

  8. Thank you for all the encouragement. I have enjoyed reading your blog and you have served as a source of inspiration as God has been leading me. I read The War of Art last year based on a Donald Miller comment that that book is on the top of his reading list and he reads it once a year. I can understand why. Blessings on you, your family, and your work. I have loved getting to know you as a Christian sister. Journey on! :)

  9. Thank you for the opportunity to add a link to my ebook Nester! :-D
And thank you for the virtual high-five you give us readers every time you post, too!

  10. As a published author who would enjoy creating another – but this time on my own without a publisher I found this post very inspiring – not only for me, but anyone out there. We all have a voice and something to share – the future looks bright for anyone who wants to get their message out.

You have a terrific way of taking a topic, cutting it down to the most basic need to know facts, and then writing very effectively about it and getting your message across brilliantly. I think you need to write an e-book on how you do that. :)

    My best- Diane

  11. Yay for you thinking about writing an ebook again!! :) I hope you do!!

  12. I already did :) Actually my book was just published in book form officially yesterday! :) It’s scary and exciting at the same time. Mine is a very sensitive but needed subject. When you publish, you put yourself out there for criticism but the amazing compliments that I have received from the women it’s helping makes it worth it!

    Blessings,
    Mel

  15. Thank you for hosting this linky party! I linked up my free book on kindergarten readiness. My home blog is homeiswheremystorybegins.blogspot.com. The book is available there too. I linked the ebook to my brand new blog. I hope you’ll stop by lovelaughterandliteracy.blogspot.com. I’ve never actually shared this blog with anyone before and I’d love to have a few followers!
