For years, years, I’ve been meaning to buy me some chalk markers.  They write so much darker, better, stronger than regular old, boring, 1800’s chalk.

I bought mine at Michael’s craft store.  This package of 4 {my boys had already snatched the other white one by the time I took this photo} was $20 I think.  But I used my 40% off coupon so that was a good price.  They hide these chalkers back with the real markers that are sold individually in the art section.  I think you can also find them on amazon and other online shops.

You can be one of those good organized moms and write out your menu with it.  I feel so much better about myself.

My son drew this on his chalkboard–look how great the red shows up.

This chalkboard used to be a clock but the hands fell off.  So I just stuck on some chalk board paper.  I think you can get it on amazon as well.

small, bad photo but you get the idea

I wish I had invented chalk markers.  Coffee houses everywhere have been using them for years and one day, I feel chalk may become extinct.  There’s no dust with the markers, all you have to do is wipe it off with a damp cloth.  I also wish I were selling these because I totally believe that every house out there with a chalkboard will have its life changed by these markers.

If you want to buy your markers online, I did find out one of my affiliates, Mister Art, carries like 10 different colors of chalk markers.  I haven’t tried this brand but, the choices–there are many.  To look at them, click on the button underneath these words and then once you are at the website, search for “chalk markers”.
