Here’s the garland on our staircase. It’s kind of wild. I put every piece of greenery, pretend flowers, berries and sticks in it that I could get my hands on. Oh, look a close up of the bird in our garland, I love birds. Here’s the garland on our mantle. I have a pet peeve of when people use wimpy, skinny, sickly garland on their mantle especially when they lay it on the mantle itself. I like to keep my mantle free for candles and such. So, our Christmas garland on our mantle seems to grow larger and more wonderful every year (not to mention heavier and more of a fire hazard, all in the name of decorating, right?). In order to keep it secure I nail the biggest nail I can find into both outer corners of the mantle then, wind some of the greenery around it. I’ve never had one fall into the fire yet.

Here’s another photo for your viewing pleasure. It’s out of focus, I think my 7 year old took it. My sister’s the one in the infant swing. I’m the one doing God knows what. You know just a candid shot of us just hanging out at the playground, taking it easy, relaxing being everyday cool moms.
