Last week I attended a Party on the Porch for a local non-profit, Fashion & Compassion. I got to know them a little last fall when they were a vendor for Nest Fest, and I fell in love with their beautiful jewelry and bags and the work they are doing here in Charlotte and around the world.

I can’t say what they do any better than they already have:

Fashion & Compassion is a non-profit, jewelry & accessories brand seeking to fulfill our mission by connecting caring consumers with vulnerable artisans to bring dignity through economic empowerment.

We accomplish this mission in three different ways:

1. By providing holistic employment opportunities to artisans overcoming poverty and injustice in Charlotte and around the world

2. Through educating our customers about the issues and injustices facing people around the world

3. By raising funds through product sales for our non-profit partners, who further address the spiritual, emotional & physical needs of the artisans we serve

At the end of the day, we’re just a team of Jesus-loving women who are doing our best to change the world & empower others, because we believe that small acts of kindness & obedience can do just that.

If you are local, you will want to visit the inspiring shop in person in downtown Charlotte.

And if you aren’t local, check out their handmade wares and see how easy it is to support both great fashion and much-needed compassion.

Party hostesses: Rachel, Angela , Renee, Megan, Alex, Kaylyn,  Shaunna, Hayley, and me.
