One Room Christmas Tour

perpetual hope

Today I’m joining in with Chris from Just a Girl to share one room from our home for a little Christmas inspiration. I love this tour because there’s no need to scroll throw ages of photos of every room of the house, just a few quick photos that might inspire and encourage you to take a break and make a change in your own home. You’ll want to visit Allison’s dining room, if you missed it!

Today I’m sharing our living room/family room/main hangout place for me and Chad and our three teenage boys, our dog and two cats. It’s a small space and we want it to feel Christmasy but I don’t want to have to pack away bins and bins of Christmas decor. Amen.

It’s a Cozy Minimalist Christmas.

The garland is all dried out but you can’t tell unless you get really close.

christmas tour of homes

I’d love to have you join us for the 8th Annual Christmas Tour of Homes! Next Tuesday, December 15th, I’ll host a tour right here at where you can add your link from your own blog where you’ve loaded photos of your own home decorated for Christmas. The more lived-in and loved-on, the merrier!

  3. Love your stockings! And glad to know the dried out garlands still look great… I fell in love with having a fresh tree a few years ago, but of course that’s pretty easy to keep watered because it sits in a stand! I’ve never tried a fresh garland- I didn’t know if they would start to brown if they dried out, but yours look great. Who cares if they’re a little crispy? ;)

I have tamed my perfecting of Christmas cheer much over the years, but the first few years of adult, married and then kids life I was insane. I had all the magazines – long before the internet, and December was one big migraine headache…Me in bed for several days and losing precious decorating time. On about Dec 23 I started to become sick to my stomach thinking about or seeing red and green!! Truly!
I tossed most of the magazines and pared things down. I decided to become the Ghost of Christmas Insanity Past. Still, your course intrigues me… Being purposeful in the simplicity of the season. Because, really, I love the season~

  22. its one of the best post of this blog.
