No Brainer Memory Keeping

This past week we spent some time in Williamsburg, Norfolk and Hampton Virgina for a last week of the summer, before school, family vacation. And because I always forget about my TimerCam app, I don’t have any proof that I was with these four handsome men.

And one day I wasn’t with them!

This wasn’t one of those relaxing kinds of vacations. Every now and then we take those (like when we went to The Cottage a few weeks ago) and sometimes we take the kind where we do lots of things and wake up in time to eat the free breakfast at the hotel and stay up late because well, it’s summer and that’s what you do.

when in williamsburg

We’ve been to Colonial Williamsburg area before as a family, and Chad took the boys last year for a homeschool trip, so this time we toured the USS Wisconsin and did go-carts and restaurants and the hotel pool. One day the fellas all went to Busch Gardens and since I’ve somehow turned into an old lady who no longer can ride roller coasters, I opted out and asked for advice on instagram where I should go for good coffee, books & thrifting.

So I had one of those caramel blended drinks at Aroma’s Coffee in Williamsburg, I went to the DAV thrift store on Merrimac, and I had lunch with just me and a book at the Baker’s Crust. Thanks for all the advice on where to go!

I walked around Colonial Williamsburg by myself (y’all it was SO fun!) and took a million photos of house parts, because I am me.

This year I didn’t even take my real camera. I relied solely on my camera phone which takes great photos and makes my life so much easier until this…

UGGGGG!!! So I do what so many of us do and quickly scroll through the most recent of the 2000 photos that I have in my iPhone and delete whatever seems irrelevant which is almost nothing because I’ve been doing this for the past six months and now I’ve deleted almost everything that I don’t like.

Yes, I know I could ‘simply’ plug in my phone and download the photos, but last time I did that they all got moved around in my computer and I couldn’t find what I was looking for. Besides, my computer has over 20,000 photos already, and I’ve been meaning to organize those for years. It’s one of those important, non-urgent things that I’ve always meant to do.

And two computers ago, I lost EVERY photo because my computer was dropped on the floor and nothing could be recovered. I need a safe place to store my photos where I’m not required to name, organize and babysit it all the time.

photo storage

I just got the LyveHome photo storage device and so far I love it. You download the LyveApp and you can connect your whole family’s devices–so any phones or tablets or computers and they can all connect wirelessly with your wifi or there is pretty much every type of plug-in hole imaginable so you can load photos from old hard drives, flash drives, SD cards or whatever you have. You can set it up to automatically store every photo you take on your phone and load on your computer so you can safely delete as many photos as you need to from your phone. YES. No babysitting.

This magical photo storage box automatically stores every photo you take.

the boys

Plus, it acts as a digital photo frame as it sits in your house because you can set it to scroll through your photos which is fun. When I want to see the past photos I took on my phone I don’t have to have them all saved in my camera app using up my storage, I simply click the LyveApp on my phone and I can access all my photos there and they are organized by date.

photo storage

It’s got 2TB of storage and I have no idea what that means but I do know that after syncing the photos from my phone (2322 photos and 24 videos) I still had 99% of space left. Apparently, this can hold over million photos. That means I don’t have to think about photo storage for a long, long time. Amen.

  1. Neat promotional video! I like how easy it looks to use! Super simple and all pictures in one place! My photos are all over the place. Currently I have 354 pictures on my phone, i just got a new phone in May.

  2. I’ve only had my phone since April and I’m doing the delete photo, take a photo dance. I need one of these! Not to mention my middle child’s baby photos are on a (now) archaic desktop tower in my basement, completely inaccessible. It WOULD have to be the middle child’s…

  3. This is genius! I have 2,567 photos on my phone and regularly get the same message featured above :) I need a better system and I think this is IT!

  4. 344! That’s only because I got a new phone. Give me time. ;-)

  5. I have 1447 pictures on my new phone. Wow, I didn’t realize I had taken so many already! I really like the scrolling feature of the Lyve. I’m not good at having hard copies made and being able to see my kids, grandbaby, flowers, etc. just scrolling would be wonderful. I like that it syncs automatically, too.

  6. I have alittle over 800 – love how easy it looks! Thanks!

  7. Melanie Miller says:

I have 472 photos on my phone. I like the idea of all the photos being in one place. (Instead of my reality…2 closet shelves, 17 photo albums, 3 shoe boxes, 6 devices, 3 computers.) This is pretty cool!

  8. I have tons and tons of photos and this thing looks awesome. I’d be a happy winner for sure.

  9. Ok. We have pictures on so many devices. This would be phenomenal. I have 326 photos on my phone right now.

  10. Kim Mitchell says:

I so NEED this and it looks so easy to use that I could do it. A couple of years ago we lost all our photos from our computer also. I was so heartbroken. This would be super sweet to win!!!

  11. I do not own a cell phone (intentional choice because this = simpler living for me), but I would LOVE to have one of these devices to give to my parents. My Mom and Dad are in their upper 50’s and not very tech savvy… my Dad in particular loves devices and loves taking pictures while he is out working on the farm… which over the years has resulted in many, many great photos being scattered across many, many different devices. The prospect of compiling all their photos into one place is overwhelming but in the current situation, there is really no good way to enjoy them… I would love to give a LyveHome to my parents – and include setting it up / training them how to use it as part of the present!

  12. What a fantastic concept! I have only had my phone for a few months and already have almost 300 pictures! Probably about 299 of those have to do with the fact that I have a nine week old. :) I would love the chance to have a device that stores and backs up all of my photos but doesn’t require me to sync my phone up to my computer all of the time! Thank you for a great giveaway opportunity!

  13. As of today I have 824 photos and that’s only because I deleted about 800+ earlier this week because I too got the same ‘Storage Full’ message you got! I already know I would love this little lifesaver! Winning it would prove to I FINALLY need to get my act together on photo organizations!

  14. FancyNancy says:

How Providential! My husband and I have just been talking about saving our photos. I only have 579 photos and 35 videos on my phone right now. But just let my 4 year old get ahold of it and I could easily have a thousand. :) This product sounds absolutely perfect and I wonder what took them so long! If I didn’t win the vacuum, I REALLY hope I win this! :)

  15. I have reached my limit with photos on both my phone (it seems the delete button knows my name) & home PC….YIKES!!! Yes, I have somehow managed to organise them into folders, but Like many others, we have precious memories stored on our PC too. I’m sincerely afraid of losing them all one day.
I’ve been talking to the hubs about a back up storage device for a little while now. I think this may be our answer. It seems pretty simple to set up….which I love! I dislike complicated stuff. Whether or not I win, I’d definitely look into purchasing one of these. Now if I could just back up ALL of our music too!

  16. Oh I love this. What a great idea! I have 652 photos on my iphone, only because I too had to go thru and delete some so I could take more. I like the fact that they will all be in one place with easy access.

  17. I have 249 photos on my phone and that’s only because I deleted a ton when I got that darned error message!! Grrrr. I’d love this system just for the photo back up!

  18. Trisha Clapsaddle says:

My storage was full too! I deleted a bunch but I’m sure to fill it back up again. Currently at 189

  19. This could not have appeared at a better time. I have a new baby and my phone has been flashing a message for the last week that iCloud storage is full. I have over 1,500 pics! Even more embarrassing, I have an older camera with maxed out space and my PC only has 4gb of space remaing, which it reminds me of daily with a red line and message. I’m TERRIFIED of losing pictures of my new baby, but was overwhelmed by having photos across 3 maxed-out devices. :(

  20. This is awesome! I am constantly asking my husband to send me photos that he has taken on his phone. This would get us all connected! Thanks for the chance to win this!

  21. Stephanie K. says:

Wow! The LyveHome photo storage device is amazing! I currently ha 3,037 photos on my iPhone. I love how simple this device makes displaying photos. It is so rare these days to actually print out photos so our memories are lost in limbo in electronic storage. The LyveHome photo storage device easily puts precious memories on display. With it, I might actually get my wedding photos and honeymoon pictures up for all to see (it’s only been a whole year)!

  22. I live the idea of being both a photo display and a back-up system with the LyveHome – I back up all my digital photos from my computer onto an external hard drive (and once a year I make a family “yearbook” which gets printed out from My Publisher) but an extra back up system is always a good idea. You can’t replace photos!

  23. Wow I so want one of these! I am so horrible about pictures. I hate taking the time to download them to my computer from my phone. It looked like in the video that it syncs to your devices so that’s cool! Plus I love that it has a ton of memory!

  24. Ooops – I only have 133 photos on my phone – I mostly use my DSLR. :)

  25. I have over 1000 pics on my phone and who knows how many on my computer! I am really bad at downloading pictures and backing them up, so this storage system that does it automatically would be awesome. It would be so nice to just have it done for you instead of me remembering to do it. One less thing to think/worry about!

  26. I have 2400 pictures on my phone but 15000 on my computer and NUMEROUS flash drives! The thing that appeals to me is that they will be available to scroll through plus saved no worries of losing precious photos of my brand new grandbaby! We have so many pictures between four children and now that darling little grand daughter! This would be the most awesome gift for my son and his wife! Goodness this is the answer to my photo craziness and organization trials!!

  27. I’ve been having to delete photos lately in order to take more. I download them to my computer eventually, but they don’t always save in the order taken. I have been planning a photo organizing marathon for ever, but can’t seem to make myself actually get it done. This is a cool thingamajiggy!

  28. Almost 2000 and I’ve only had this phone for 8 months. Eeeek. I worry about my photos but never take the time to do anything about it. I don’t wanna babysit anymore!!

  29. Cathy rodabaugh says:

Oh my. Only a gazillion! We did a shore vacation, too! Bet you gave a ton of photos, but your lunch/book/thrift day sounds perfect!

  30. Elizabeth Spencer says:

Being a Mom of seven children this would be amazing way to not only store pictures but be able to see them and be reminded of the gifts from God.

  31. Shirley Elliott says:

I only have about 100 photos on my phone as I continually delete photos. Love the fact that the device will show and scroll thru photos. Thanks for the opportunity to enter.

  32. I have 1,893 photos on my phone (but I’ve recently deleted a lot to get down to that number; about 13,000 on jump drives and external hard drives and about 5,000 currently on my computer. Would love to get them all in one place to back up, organize and view.

  33. Paige Campbell says:

I just watched the video for Lyve, and this is awesome. I have been needing to back up all my photos for years, and especially my wedding photos from this past year. My husband and I love to travel so we run into “storage space full” frequently. I use my iPhone for a camera so this would be so helpful. I just recently added my photos to my computer but currently in my phone I have 1000 photos and 35 videos.

  34. I still only have a few thousand–but I am psyched to find this, my mom has a gazillion and will love this!

  35. JUST WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!! I have been deleting to take pictures too! And my external storage device is also full. I’ve been wondering how I can get all my pics in one place and this is the answer I have been waiting for! I love that I can download wirelessly. Fabulous!

  36. I have 2358 photos- I love the ease of wi-fi uploading.

  37. Blended family, 5 kids, and over 4000 photos!! I am in love with this! I need it!

  38. Gwennie francis says:

1175, all the pics in one place is awesome!

  39. I only have 193 right now but that’s only because I plugged my phone into my laptop last night and downloaded most of them. A lot of my pictures and videos lately are ones my kids have taken. Ha! I really like that the Lyve has so much storage. We take SO MANY pictures!! My laptop is running out of room!

  40. Wow…I literally have 64 pics on my phone…SOMETIMES I get to 100 before I have to delete….I am SO over it…this would be awesome…love how easy it looks!!

  41. Anastasia says:

I love the syncing feature so you can access all your photos on all your devices. I only have 350 photos on my phone – I’m constantly uploading to my computer because I don’t have much storage space. But then I miss out on having them easily accessible when I want to look at them or share them with others. It’s a great device!

  42. Oh I would love one of these! I am a 50-something grandmother who is not so tech savvy. What is the cloud and what has it done with my photos??? To have one of these devices storing my pics and sitting there scrolling through them like a digital frame would be so great!! I probably have a few hundred photos on my phone and I can’t even talk about how many are on my husband’s phone. It is ridiculous! I’ll be looking into this for a Christmas gift, I think!

  43. Anne McKay says:

Love the simplicity and syncing. I need help simplifying my life! 944 pictures and !!!

  44. Amy Swinarsky says:

I LOVE THIS! I currently have about 500 pictures on my phone. I ALWAYS have to delete to add more!

  45. I have about 400 pics on phone but only b/c keep downloading them to computer. My phone storage gets full pretty quickly this sounds like a great solution.

  46. What a great idea.

  47. I love the simplicity of the system….even I could set it up and down load the app! I currently have 3,381 pictures on my phone

  48. That’s a sweet little box! I also ran out of room during a very special summer moment. UGH! Currently, I have almost 1000 pics on my phone and just can part with them.

  49. I have 300 pictures on my phone but another 35,000 on my computer. Love the idea of everything being stored in one place and accessible from multiple devices! I am always afraid of losing photos and videos since my phone and computer is filled to capacity. With two kids and another on the way, I don’t see our picture taking decreasing!

  50. 1043 and counting!
