Three Timely Books I Accidentally Read Before Traveling to Uganda —my post at (in)courage

sisters

We leave tomorrow and start posting on Monday. Why? Why are a group of ragamuffin bloggers including two goofy sisters going to Uganda with Compassion? Because we believe in the work that Compassion is doing through the local church made possible by sponsors like you and me.

Chad and the boys and I sponsor three boys (one in Guatemala, one in the Philippines, one in Tanzania)  the first two were a direct result of reading posts by compassion bloggers (I can STILL tell you which posts prompted our commitment).  The last boy/17 year-old man we sponsor, Topiwo from Tanzania, was also because of the blogger trip–because I went and got to meet him! Chad and I often say that the $38 per month to sponsor each boy is the best money we’ve ever spent.

And that’s the other reason we are going, not just because we believe in the work that Compassion is doing, but because it’s brought us much joy, and we feel like we can make a difference in the lives of three families without even leaving our house. And we want you to experience that too. We are going in hopes of matching up 400 sponsors to 400 children who are unsponsored. Click here to meet some of the children who are waiting for a sponsor. You’ll be glad you did.
