Welcome to 31 Days 2013!

Welcome 31 Days

Click on any topic in a rectangle to link up or find posts on the topic of your choice. Find out more about 31 Days here.

I beg you, PLEASE practice linking up first if you are unsure of how to do it or how your button will look, here’s where to practice, then come back here, click on your category and link up for real. Most browsers will show a small red “x” next to your link–that’s there for you to delete your own link if needed. I cannot promise I can fix your link if you mess it up and double links will be deleted.

If you’ve never participated before be sure to read all the info here. Thanks! xo

  7. This is SO exciting and ridiculous and unnerving and epic and wow!

  8. Hello! I had tweeted you earlier, but I forgot that I can make a comment here. I posted on #31 under Inspiration/Faith, and my link did not work. I then reposted as #95, and the link works great. Although, I have a red “x” by the #95 link. Is there any way that you can delete link #31 and allow link #95 to stay? I have tried to delete 31 myself, but it is not working.

    So excited!!! Thanks so much.

    Blessings,

  9. Yea!!! Linked up and am scrolling through the categories to see what everyone else is doing. I shared my first post on Facebook, and one of my IRL friends commented that she is participating, too. And she needed a button for hers, and I referred a blogging friend – who I haven’t met IRL – to make one for her! The internet is a marvelous thing!

  10. I seriously decided to do this about 90 minutes ago. :) Excited to write with purpose!

  11. First timer participating. I enjoyed reading through so many last year that I had to join in the fun!
Thank you for all of your hard work in setting this up for us.

  13. Thank you so much for graciously hosting this party another year! Such fun!

  14. Thank you for hosting this grand party and all your hard work putting it together.

  15. I think I’m linked in. #88 under “Too Awesome”. This is my first year to do this. I’ve read the information on 31 days, but I’m still a bit confused. Will each post be automatically linked to the 31 days site after I post it to my permalink post?

    • nope, whatever permalink you linked to that’s where people will land when they click your button. it’s your job to direct them to your most recent post–or you can use a permalink to a category on your own blog so the new post in that category automatically shows.

    Good Night!

  19. Messed up and linked the first time to my home page. Fixed it to a permalink. So under personal endeavors I am 82 and 106 right now. 106 is the permalink. Sorry for the mistake. didnt want you to think I was trying to double link but I could nt figure out how to delete. Thanks for hosting this! Excited! -WEndy

  20. Eeek! First time doing this… I’m excited, nervous and wondering what I’ve gotten myself into. Thanks for hosting this major event — I saw this last year and all of these wonderful bloggers here are what made me want to start blogging myself. A huge thank you for that as well — it’s been a wonderful experience for me so far!

  21. Thank you so much for hosting this and all the work I know you’ve put into it! I’m so looking forward to connecting with others and filling my cup with some of their stories. Bless you!

  22. I’m finally going to do this. I’m going to blog 31 days…expecting some change here for me!
Thank you for doing this. I always look forward to following along and reading many of the challenges the authors post– having never participated– it is kind of scary.
Thanks for all the work you do in putting this together.

  23. I LOVE how you’ve broken things up into categories…such a great way to organize & simplify! Fits perfectly into our topic for this month – 31 Days to Simple Living (; I’ve already seen some amazing posts and can’t wait to be the reading process!!

  24. oops…not “be the reading process,” but begin the reading process (;

  25. Looking forward to thirty-one days of writing ahead! But wanted to mention that when I linked my button, the first time it didn’t work (despite that I’d practiced!). So 68. on House and Home leads nowhere. 73- under the same title: reuse, remake, re-love DOES lead somewhere. At 68. I don’t have the red x option to delete, and you said you’ll be going through to delete “multiple postings” etc, but that’s not what I intended. Just want to make sure I’m not deleted at 73. House and Home. Thanks!

  26. it’s been a while since i’ve blogged (moving across the US with small children will do that to ya! ;) ) – a challenge like this is just the ticket to get rolling again! thanks! :)

  27. What a lovely and pretty blog you have! I just found it as someone was tweeting out about the 31-days-project and I wanted to see what it was about. It’s not for me (this year) but I wish everyone good luck. I just read through all of your posts about lovely limitations from last year – awesome series! :-)

  28. Yay how exciting!

  29. I am confused. I had change of heart and decide to do fiction for these 31 days. Inspired by my blogger friend Richa, I started with my story today. However, I dont know where to link it up.

  30. I almost joined the 31 day challenge, but the button/ linky thing was too complicated…or I was just too lazy! Lol! I’m a blogger myself, but love reading other blogs. Thanks to this 31 day posting, I now have another couple of dozen blogs to read and comment on every morning! Here’s to pajamas and coffee through lunch!

  31. Ack! I can’t believe I’m actually committing to this, I’m excited, anxious, energized by the whole idea. :)

  32. Yay! I can’t wait to find some new reads. I’ve already seen some interesting ones…”Finding your true self” “Living on Purpose”…Im gonna crawl into bed tonight and start perusing all these. Thanks for doing this again!

  33. This is my first year, so I’m really excited about this!!!! Yay! 31 Days of Fiber Crafting here we come. :D

  34. hi nester, i’m very excited to part of this, this year. i never thought it would happen. always said this was the craziest thing to do…now i’m doing it:)

however, i’m having aproblem w my link! it has the red x beside it and i don’t know why. originally, i had my landing page on a separate page that didn’t provide a good permalink. had to delete it and redo. it was a quiet time of day so each time i did it, i still had the same number. my spot is #119 under personal endeavors. i now have a good link so don’t know what else to do! can you enlighten me? i would hate to miss out on this…after all the work!

  35. Hello, I’m sorry to bother you with “technical” issues while you’re remodeling and kicking off #31 Days of Blogging 2013—but I have a little red x by my Blog Button under the Family Category. Have I messed up the Blog Button task? It’s my first button, so I’m sure I did something wrong. How can I fix it?
Oh, My Button is greenish yellow & says: She’s All That Proverbs 31

  36. ok, i have now deleted all the tries at 119 which b/c 117. restarted all over again with my good permalink at 146. still have a red x. at this point i have no idea what to do! i’ll just leave it b/c i’m totally stuck! don’t know what the problem is or where to troubleshoot:(

  37. ok, i have now deleted all the tries at 119 which b/c 117. restarted all over again with my good permalink at 146. still have a red x. at this point i have no idea what to do! i’ll just leave it b/c i’m totally stuck! don’t know what the problem is or where to troubleshoot:( the title is HONEY, IT’S TIME TO GROW UP! and i’m about to have a tantrum:)

  38. So how crazy is it that I started a blog last night and uploaded the link this afternoon. I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m already getting an error message on a couple of my pages. But, I really want to share what I’ve learned health-wise with people, hoping it will help someone. I will figure it out eventually, but for now, it is a basic skeleton, no bells or whistles blog. Looks like a caveman blog. :0 Thanks for the opportunity!

  39. I posted my blog for day 1. YIPPPEEE!!! I came here clicked on my button and that took me where it was supposed to – to my 31 Day Challenge Acceptance. BUT, it doesn’t take me to my new post. I have not idea how to link my Challenge to my new post. Anyone using Blogger that can assist. I am a newbie blogger.

    • YIPPPEEEE!! Hayley @ Tiny Twig you don’t know this but you provided the solution to my problem. By reading your post I was able to figure out what I needed to do. Thanks a million. :)

  40. The categories was a great idea. I am going to pick at least one from each category to follow.

  41. I believe the red X’s are because it’s YOUR link and you have the power to delete it. Not 100% sure on that, but it’s what I assumed. They aren’t visible to the rest of us.

I’m so excited to participate for the first time this year. I got link #13 on the Personal Endeavors page–luckily I don’t mind that fun number! I’ve got all of my 31 Days of Radical Self Care posts planned out, and even most of the first week entirely written and scheduled to post. I’ve never been this organized about blogging in my life. Yay! Thanks for giving some of us this ‘kick in the pants’ to get moving, Nester. :)

  42. Here it comes, sista! Thanks for your hard work and for promo-ing this. Let the words pour forth…..

  43. it´s such a great idea ♥

  44. I cannot wait until the kids are in bed, to curl up on the sofa with a cup of coffee and start reading these! Thank you so much for all the hard work, and for hosting this!

  45. I so love reading your blog on a daily basis. I love your honesty, your humor and your realism. I was so surprised to see three ads on defunding obamacare. I don’t really care what your views are, but I guess I’d rather they weren’t shared on your blog. Another side of things….because of a preexisting condition I have not been able to get insurance until today. Nothing is perfect but getting insurance coverage is pretty awesome.

    • What?! I’m so sorry that happened! I use a third party system for ads and I’ve tried to block anything political at all (as well as a bunch of other stuff–they are SO SNEAKY at getting around blocks). I’ll have to recheck all of my ads. Sadly, if something gets through I have no control over what it is or “which side” it represents, I wouldn’t be surprised if you clicked again and saw an opposing ad. Crazytown.

The ads show based on the users past history, so if you were on a news site, stuff like that can easily show up–I’ve yet to see it, thanks for telling me.

The last thing I want here at my fun little decorating blog is to make anyone feel like I’m got some sort of political agenda–I so don’t!

  46. Hi! Thanks so much for this challenge! Speaking of challenges, I am a bit tech challenged, so my first link was only to the first post. I made a second link that goes to an actual category page on my blog. I thought I could delete the first link, but there’s no X. It might not be a big deal, but it’s easier for people to find my posts if they use the second link. Is it possible for you to delete the first one? it’s #126 under Personal Endeavors. If not, that’s ok! They can always follow the buttons on my site. Thanks!

  47. This sounds like fun, I have never linked up with anyone before and I am excited to see what happens. 31 days is gonna be a challenge.

  48. Wise words! I am 48 years old and have only moved from my parent’s home to my current one. Now there is a real possibility I may move across the US from one coast to the other. I am one of those people who has “feelings” for my stuff! This will surely be my big test. Looking forward to learning a lot in 31 days!

  49. Thank you for hosting this. I’m starting to delve into the various posts and will probably have to start setting a time limit!

  50. My first year to do this…and I’m having fun already!
Love it– and thanks so much for hosting.
LORD willing…I’ll make great strides this month and get things TO DONE!
