Painted Cork Tile Pinboard @ The Happy Home

“My first thought was that the master should be relaxing—a bit of a sanctuary.

But upon more contemplation, I threw it all out the window for passion.   Let the bathroom or the guest room be soothing.   This room should be a little spicy and  evoke love and beauty. “

  1. I love the black walls! Her bedroom is gorgeous! I painted my dining room SW’s Urbane Bronze, which looks almost black, and I’ve been so pleased with it. The dark backdrop makes everything in the room stand out so beautifully. I was a little concerned it would make the room feel cave-like, but it’s just very relaxed and comfortable. Even on rainy days, it never feels gloomy. http://dispensingme.blogspot.com/2012/02/house-stuff.html

Oh yes–the black walls are gorgeous. Love your pin-board. And I love the article “My mess is the perfect place for His Glory”…..great reminder and so so true.

  4. I’m loving the black walls. My goal is to paint the powder room black, if I can convince the hubs.

  5. I love the black room board! 2.5 years ago when we moved into our house painted an accent wall charcoal gray in our master. I spent 2.5 years loving the accent wall and hating the other walls until about 3 weeks ago I finally got around to painting the whole room charcoal. I adore it! I am still trying to bring the room together but I am so glad I did it. Plus, if I ever get around to lining the curtains it’ll be dark like the Bat Cave at night! Win!

  6. I love that painted cork board pic. Cute idea, could do so many diff designs. And, yes, loved that incourage post this week.

  7. When I read that post the other day on Edie’s blog, for some reason, I immediately thought of you! Something like, “I bet Nester would love this, even though she just painted all her walls white.” :) I loved it, too, but mostly I liked her philosophy behind it.

    • Nancy, yes, you know me so well! So true, and really the great thing is that she HAS a philosophy. Doesn’t really matter what it is as long as it’s something she/you/we can get behind and say “YES, this is WHY I am doing this”. Thanks for the comment and comparison b/n my white and her black walls, you pointed out something that really made me think!

  8. In honor of Edie’s post, I started painting my patio room walls graphite, by Benjamin Moore! Have been contemplating for months, as you can see…http://pinterest.com/staci_waddle/working-on-walls/ Thanks for the post! I will be done with my patio room by Wednesday!
