There’s not gonna be a window mistreatment ebook.

Back in December I was trudging right along with working on the ebook.  It was really hard for me to get into writing this in ebook form but, I promised I would have it ready in January and that alone was motivation to kick my working into high gear.  Besides, I had already done the most demanding, creative part, I made some new adorable mistreatments that I can’t wait to show you, took zillions of photos of the steps and all I had left was to write about them, tweak the photos and create the ebook.  Plus, many of you sent in some inspiring photos of your own mistreatments, the ebook was going to have some great information!

Then one night my laptop fell off  a dresser and smashed onto our wood floor.  My hard drive was destroyed and 20,000+ photos instantly vanished, along with my half done ebook.  Nope, I didn’t back stuff up.  Then a few days later my friend lost her home in a fire and suddenly losing my ebook and photos didn’t even seem worth mentioning.

But, I still want to give you the life changing, awe inspiring, unmatched information on the window mistreatments.  So, I’ve been hard at work trying to figure out the best way to get you all of the window mistreatment information you could ever want and more.  And I think I’ve found it.  My goal is to have all the information in one place, online, easy to access, include video, and make it amazing. I’m hoping to have it ready by the end of March but I’m not making any promises.

There’s not gonna be a window mistreatment ebook, but, there will be something better.  Promise.  Thank you all so much for your patience, encouraging me to work on this project and for accepting me even if I don’t sew my drapes.  And for now you can find out everything I’ve written about no sew window mistreatments right here.

  1. Oh my I’m so sorry about the loss of photo’s and your hard drive. Mine just crashed last week and I had to get a new one. For about 24 hours I was convinced that everything was gone forever. I too did not back up. They were able to save it and I bought a external hard drive to back up. Do you think I’ve backed it up? No, it sits on my desk staring at me saying “back her up” and I just ignore it. Why do we do this? I can imagine if my dad found out and the lecture I would get about not backing up. Oh my.

  2. Any chance you could divulge the fabric in the first picture???? Inquiring minds want to know!

Sorry to hear about you computer! I have been looking for your e book every day!!! Glad to know your still working on something. I think what you do with mistreatments is genius! Right before I found your blog I had all these plans to spend lots of $$$ on window treatments. Right now all we have are blinds up. I read all you have written on the mistreatments, but I still don’t quite get it. I am not creative or crafty, but Im learning. Im a young mom with a new empty house trying to figure out this nesting thing. I love love learning about all the creative and frugal ways to decorate from blogs like yours! So Im patiently waiting for your non ebook/video/tutorial to come out. You rock!
    God bless, Melody

  7. I am so sorry you lost your pics. Good words for all of us to do the same thing, back up ALL of our pics. I can’t wait to see what you are putting together because I know it is going to be awesome! In the meantime, I will search your blog for directions on mistreating and will try my hand at it. Thank you for ALWAYS inspiring me…..your the best!! Andrea

  8. I’m so sorry you lost everything on your hard drive! I recently had a very new hard drive simply up and die on me . . . but I had things backed up. I do local backups on my Mac with the built-in Time Machine (love love love it), and use an automatic off-site backup service called BackBlaze. It’s $5/month per computer, completely hands-free, and has a variety of options for accessing your files if you need to restore a backup (or if you’re just away from home and need to get at a couple of files). It also keeps deleted files for 30 days, so if you decide that you REALLY didn’t mean to put those files in your recycle bin and empty it, they’re still around for a while.

I hope that you’ve since found a backup solution that works for you, but if not, I highly recommend BackBlaze (not affiliated–just an uber-happy customer).

I’m so sorry to hear that happened! But glad that your are making the best of the situation. Honestly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Think about the ebook in relation to your Tagline. Maybe you already have :D
    Patiently waiting,
