Nesting Place Headquarters

This is where I write and try to stay somewhat organized.  That table is rarely clean like that.

It looks like this right now but, not for long, I’m trying a new organizing system for my precious scraps of paper and ripped out magazine pages.

Part of my problem is that I’m not using this dresser to its fullest potential.  Most of the drawers are empty right now.

Today I’m joining in the fun with Centsational Girl and her Where Do You Blog Party.  Come link up too!

  4. I love your creative room. I would have a difficult time having my office in the front of the house! I made pillow covers this weekend and my office was a mess 5 minutes into the project!

  5. Love you blogging space!! :) Wish mine looked like that!

  6. Can I tell you that you are a doll…You look great even when you blog…:) Hmmm? I wish I could snap a picture of me right now…so funny…Hair sticking up…dogs sitting around me and I am dressed in a cotton dress (which is actually pretty (:…) with my son’s flannel shirt on…BECAUSE I got cold and it was right by me…As you would say…hate me! hahaha Life is good! lol!

  7. I just needed to tell you that I love the necklace you are wearing in that last photo. You have such a great work space. I can relate to the “precious scraps of paper.” I have a binder for my magazine pages, but it’s full. :s I’m visiting from Kate’s “Where I Blog” party today. :)

  8. Your house is so to die for!!! My office is a mess and ugly still (we moved about six months ago and haven’t prettied it yet). At least I’ve got something to look forward to!

  9. Thanks for giving us a glimpse, you know we are all curious about everything:)

  12. So I just started a new blog because I found an AWESOME thrift store find. A signed Kay Bojesen hippo from the 1950’s. I paid dollars, as in under a handful of fingers, it’s worth hundreds if not a thousand. I’ve had museum’s asking to buy him. So I’ve decided to do a Flat Stanley kinda blog with pics of the hippos adventures. Call me a dork, it’s okay. My blogging space is the formal dining room turned office/piano room. I have a picture in my header of the craziness of my desk, but that’s it for now. I’m not done decorating nor do I have curtains up, just the black out fabric that will line them…must mistreat my windows or maybe even treat my windows to some seriously fun fabric. Love your blog by the way :o) read it daily!

  13. can’t wait to hear about your organizing system….right now mine is a three-ring binder with page protectors. it works, but it is heavy. lol

  14. A clean desk? You are scaring me.
I have yet to find an organizational plan that works!

My desk is an OLD library table originally from Teddy Roosevelt’s Sagamore Hill on Long Island, by way of my grandmother (the ultimate thrifter), and the chair a very old oak office chair my Mom painted chrome yellow 40 years ago. I may have to link to this party; it will spur me to tidy up.

  19. Love it! Especially the colors, with the pale blues. And I loooooove painted furniture. So homey!

  20. Upon closer inspection I see you are wearing that same necklace in the framed pic! You are going to need to do a necklace post soon. :P

  21. I’m not sure I know how to take people who have empty desk tops. I’m glad you fessed up to what your desk REALLY looks like. Messy desks are a sign of imagination … at least that’s what I tell myself. Your office is lovely.

  22. I’m in love with the french doors leading into the office!
    Heaven!

  23. I’m interested on how you’re going to organize the magazine ideas. I just blogged about how I do it. It’s not very pretty, but it gets the job done!

  29. I’m coveting your comfy chair! Great work space.

  30. Love your office space! One of my downstairs offices opens like your french doors with curtains on either side as well. It makes such a welcome entrance. But my space down there looks NOTHING like yours. eep.

I recently redid my upstairs office area though. Makes me even more giddy to blog now! :)

    Fondly,

  35. I love the photo of you sitting there with your hands on the keyboard.

Thank you for not already being perfectly organized. You’re obviously very organized, or you’d never get so much done. But you’re not perfect yet, and that gives me hope. :)

  36. Denise C. says:

I love the color on your walls, in the 3rd photo down. Can I ask what color it is, & who it’s from?
I recently came across your blog, & love it! The photos are INSPIRATIONAL! :)

  37. I love your work space and am happy to know that I am not the only one with hamster piles everywhere. Good luck with taming it.

  39. I spy the 3 little birdies in the background! I love the whimsical element of surprise :) Beautiful and well stated. Love it all!

  40. Okay, so what IS it about empty drawers? I have empty filing cabinet drawers, empty dresser drawers, empty bedside table drawers, empty drawers at the bottom of armoires, and a huge storage problem in my 100 year old house. Why can’t I store all my stuff in those drawers?? Silliness.

Bookshelves on the other hand? I have no problem filling those with a large assortment of items.

    I guess I’m a piler, not a filer. Glad I’m not alone.

  41. while visiting your sight in may i saw the board & batten post! i had immediate plans to do the same to our girls room. stop by my blog and take a look http://victoryrd.blogspot.com/2010/09/before-after.html

and i could use some empty drawers! you could send them my way :-)

  42. That turquoise necklace in the last picture? Must have! Do you have any idea where I can find one?
