31 Days of Change

this year

It’s that wonderful time of year again!  No, I’m not talking about cool crisp nights and pumpkins and apple picking, I’m talking about my yearly October series where I write at you for 31 days straight with no let up.  I know you’ve all started your paper chains in anticipation.

last year

Last year we did 31 Days to a Better Dressed Nest click to read all the posts since I’m positive you have nothing else to do today, and it was so fun {for me} and most of you seemed to enjoy it or at least if you didn’t you kept quiet about it so this year, I’m doing it again, and the theme is 31 Days to a Less Messy Nest.   Now don’t worry, it’s not going to be tricks about cleaning.  It’s more like 31 days to real, simple, quick, beautiful ways to organize and make your home run more smoothly that will change your life but Darcy couldn’t fit that on a button.  And she calls herself a graphic designer.

this is an affiliate link yee haw!

And for the record, I completely copied ProBlogger and his 31 Days to a Better Blog idea that he introduced a few years ago.  His series is now an ebook and it has really influenced Nesting Place and helped me a ton.  If you have a blog and want to make it a lot better in 31 days, by all means, click on that button above to find out more.

Now for the very best part.

I’ve somehow talked 7 of  my dear friends to also do a 31 day series in October.  A group of women with all kinds of wisdom and topics.  I think you’ll agree with me.

:: 31 Days to Stress-Free Entertaining from Sandy at The Reluctant Entertainer
:: 31 Days to a Better Photo from Darcy at Life With My 3 Boybarians
:: 31 Days to More with Less from Jen at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam
:: 31 Days of Autumn Bliss from Melissa at The Inspired Room
:: 31 Days of Living Simply from Emily at Remodeling This Life
:: 31 Days to an Inspired Table from Kendra at My First Kitchen
:: 31 Days of Grace from Emily at Chatting at the Sky

The beauty of this series is that you can pick and choose which topics pertain to you and no worries, just like last year, the posts will be short and sweet and to the point.  No huge reading commitments.

Special thanks to Darcy for designing the button layout idea {I’m sure there are fancier words but you get the idea}, also, she told me I needed a dash in my button but I thought it was ugly.  So, it’s probably grammatically incorrect but, it sure is perty ‘taint it?

Look for a local potter. They are still expensive (they are artist after all, and as much as I love a good deal at HG or Tj’s, I love supporting local artist) but they are timeless,
and extremely useful for all manner of food and decor.
Mine is known as the popcorn bowl, andis something my children will fight over after I am gone.

  30. Miss Nester, this is so exciting! If there’s anyone who could get me to clean up a few seldom-seen areas in my house, it would be you. ;) Can’t wait to read more about it!

  31. Nester girl, only you could assemble some of the best bloggers in the blogosphere for such a fun little party.

  46. Sounds like fun.

After the 31 days ( or maybe part of it but you’ve probably got them mostly written or planned out) I was wondering if you would show us inside your cupboards and storage furniture? How and where you store your everyday things like towels, sheets, shoes, bags, coats, hats, kids toys etc

  47. I’m excited about this!! And if I can think of what to say it will be even better!!

  48. I’m looking forward to your 31 days too. I could use a cleaner nest here, especially since we moved. I have lots of stuff packed into a much smaller place and could use some advice.

  49. Just this last week I have starting dejunking various spots in my house and trying to make them work for me better. I feel like I’m “nesting” and the “baby” is the holiday season. I’m so ready to feel more in control of my spaces. Can’t wait to read your tips!

  50. You tease, you! Making us wait till October!
