New here? Want to read some of the most read posts? You can decide for yourself if I have lost my mind with all of my hot gluing, fabric ripping and painting with paper towels. Shh, don’t tell the real designers.

I love to have a pretty house and hate to spend too much money or time making it pretty. I gave up following all those persnickety design rules years ago and you can too!

Here’s how I do it…

Home Wasn’t Built in a Day

I love our rental home and you can love your home too, no matter what or where it is! This blog documents four different homes that we have lived in {three rentals and a house we owned}.

Our furniture was all purchased the old fashioned way– with cash but for one thorn in my flesh piece that you can read about here. Our walls are builder beige and I can’t rip out the tile with the pinkish hue in our kitchen. I’m learning to make it work. There is no custom kitchen, no plantation shutters or soaring ceilings here. Those things are wonderful and if you have them–enjoy them! But they don’t make or break a home. And you certainly don’t have to have all the perks to have a beautiful home!

So, dig out your glue gun and join me on my ongoing adventure of making our house our home!
