Shortly after I started my blog I was searching for fun blogs to read. I stumbled across a certain blog and instantly felt a connection. Not only was this Darcy girl a fellow homeschooler with 3 boys, she was a great writer with a unique looking blog that had one of my favorite things, a quirky name: Life With My 3 Boybarians. Need I say more?

To make a short story long, Darcy held a contest and the winner received a new custom header. This girl not only schools her boys, has a very entertaining blog, and gives her hair to charity, she also has a graphic design business sensibly named Graphically Designing, hate her.

Well, my sister and I both entered and I posted my usual comment when I enter contests of any sorts “I never win anything”. This is crucial when entering a contest. If you don’t win, then you are proven right. And if you win, then, you win. It’s truly a win/win situation.

Needless to say, I won. My sister and I literally laughed out loud. Hard. I suddenly wished I hadn’t won. I wished I just would have been right. I mean, what if I don’t like my new header? And, what is a header?

Poor, poor, sweet Darcy. I felt so sorry for her. She had no idea what she was in for. I am an EXTREEEEEMLY picky person. I’ll admit, I care more about the way things look than if they function. And we all know how personal a blog is. This was gonna be a lost cause, I knew that I would never be happy.

Well, Darcy talked me through everything (actually we’ve never spoken only emailed and I have wondered if she really exists or if she is a lonely man living in Canada who found a picture of a pretty girl with a cute family and is using that as a front) and wow! I was impressed. If anyone doesn’t know about computers, it’s me. I’ve only been blogging for 9 or 10 weeks and I only know what I like when I see it. She connected with me and I felt like she knew exactly the look I was going for. I don’t know how she does what she does but, I’m glad she does it. This girl really knows her stuff!

After 567 emails and decoding of words like widget and sidebar we have arrived. I preferred to use the word “thingy” and then stating the color of said thingy to describe something to her. She didn’t even mind. So, thank you so much, Darcy for you patience and hard work! You are truly a creative genius. Thanks again girl, and I hope you don’t sue me for using your photos. (She even told me about legal stuff like that – ain’t she smart?)
