This is our room. We hadn’t ever had a nice bedroom in our 13 years of marriage until I decided to do something about it last year. My mother in law came down to teach me to use the sewing machine. She’s a really good sewer-she made my wedding gown. Of course, I am cheap. I wanted a new room without paying much for it. The solution-fabric! I usually opt for $5/yard a great local fabric shop. I splurged on the garden toile for the duvet cover, it was $8. Then, I sewed. I SEWED!!!! My mom says I could sew for TJMaxx. Haaa Haaa, not a compliment, you know, the flaws? I am impatient to say the least. The window treatments turned out great too! And, what do you think about the bed skirt? Okay, so I did spend some money on the plaid silk fabric. Note to self: don’t plan on gathering the fabric that is the most expensive. However it did add some masculinity to the extereeeeemly girly feel (remember, I have three boys I need something girly). So here it is, oh, then we moved. Now our walls are builder beige and I really like it. By the way, the plates on the wall cost .50 -$5 and the chair was $5 at a yard sale after my mom bartered it down from a “firm” asking price of $15. Thanks, Mom, I guess I can forgive you for the TJ Maxx comment.
